Fresh look for Casa Pace

To make Casa Pace even more a place for resting, relaxing and enjoying the surrounding, we created a beautiful garden, almost zen-like, with plants and stones in harmony.
We also planted another olive tree overlooking the fantastic view to the Soratte mountain:
And also the barbecue is now even more an inviting place for long warm summer evenings...
But also inside we wanted to bring more Pace and Natura into the rooms. In one of the two sleeping rooms now hangs a heart on a branch of a tree....
....and in the other sleeping room a buddha watches over your restful sleep :)

The living room got new comfortable seats and a big olive branch on the wall for the mediterrenean flair...

Only the view from the terrace has stayed the same: beautiful landscape that cannot be improved.

Piediluco

Yesterday we have made a lovely trip to Piediluco, a small village at the lake Piediluco near Terni.
Beautiful weather and nature, so we did a walk half around the lake.
 Slow Life everywhere...
 Beach-Life!!

The path is also a part of the Via Francigena, the Italian pilgrimage route to Rome.
On the other side of the lake we could take a cold drink in a small cafe and then hop on the AcquaBus, a little ferry that brought us back to Piediluco.

Swimming Bath in Casperia

Need some cooling in the summer heat? The swimming pool in the near village Casperia is open in the summertime.
It's in a little hidden place, surrounded by the nice views over the hills, and not totally public. Guests of Casa Pace are very welcome though :)

Medioeval festival in Vacone

Last Saturday we went to a medioeval festival Vacone in the evening. Gladiators, maids, gladiators and arabic belly-dancing women were creating a show for the emperor (and the spectators).

Yoga

Who would not love to do yoga on a platform with such a marvellous view over the fields of Sabina?
Every Saturday Gabrielle Long makes us a little bit more flexible...

She also offers Massages, and Meditation Courses.

Prati

Casa Pace is situated a little bit outside of Cottanello (5 minute walk to the center) in the Via dei Prati. What is the Prati? If you pass our house you will get there. After 4-5 km uphill through the forest you will reach paradise. A deserted village with no human being around - but lots of animals!
Here pigs, cows, horses, goats and sheep live in harmony together, sharing the green fields, the water places and the peaceful silence. The farmers drive up the Prati from time to time to look after the animals who are running free (and sometimes even come down as far as our house.

Only the sheep need someone to take care of them :)

As a vegan it's one of the most beautiful places where farm animals live I have seen. You can walk up there, have a picknick on the green hills and enjoy the nature.
This is how it should be, isn't it?

Here is a movie about a farm animal sanctuary:

Family visit

Last week my lovely family has visited me in bella Italia.
So we did some sightseeing, to the abbey in Farfa di Sabina

to Rome, of course, to greet the Pope

to Orvieto with its beautiful dome
and to the Lake Bolsena where we finally got some seaside feeling for my father :)
We had ordered sunshine for the whole week, and they liked Sabina, Cottanello, Casa Pace and the lovely people here.
